More to protect those caughtup in armed conflict, to fight climatechange and avert nuclear catastrophe;more to expand opportunities forwomen and girls, and to combatinjustice and impunity; more to meetthe Millennium Development Goals”.said, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moonon UN Day 2010.

Emphasizing the UN global action planto achieve the eight goals by 2015 thestudents of Red House devoted themorning assembly to one of the goalswhich is to eradicate extreme povertyand hunger. The proceedings of the UNGeneral Assembly were dramatizedwherein the representatives ofUNESCO, ILO and FAO expressed theirdifficulty in attaining food security. IMFsuggested measures for higher foodproduction and efficient distribution offood between countries.

Mr. Ashutosh, Director of the school,reflected on the achievements of theUN since 64 years. He stressed theimportance of food and encouraged thestudents to prevent the wastage of foodand contribute to world food security bytaking a pledge together.
